News Editor

Description:
Publishers Weekly is the leading publication for the book publishing industry. We are looking for an editor for the News Department. This position is based in New York City with limited travel. 

Job Responsibilities:

·        Write stories on various aspects of the publishing industry. Articles will appear in the weekly Publishers Weekly print magazine, as well as, in various newsletters, including PW Daily.
·        Incumbent will be required to assist with compiling the PW Daily newsletter.
·        Covering and reporting on live events in New York City will be expected.
·        Develop industry contacts.

Experience/Skills:

·        2-4 years of experience in a reporting capacity.
·        Excellent writing, technical, and communication skills required, as well as, good social media skills.
·        Knowledge of the publishing industry preferred, but not mandatory.
