Assistant Director, Center for Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Franchising

The Center for Innovation, Entrepreneurship & Franchising (CIEF) is seeking to fill a full-time position of Assistant Director. The assistant director will work closely with the director in developing, administering and evaluating a wide range of entrepreneurial events and programs

Job Duties
•     Recruit and deliver programming for a cohort of up to 30 freshmen and sophomore students in an Entrepreneurial Living-Learning Community. Significant time will be spent recruiting in Nebraska high schools and then working with these students.
•     Overseeing the staffing and operation of a student-run coffee shop with revenues over $150,000 and used to fund scholarships, prize money and travel.
•     Assist with programming and administering the Celebration of Entrepreneurship fundraising gala.
•     The Assistant Director will also assist in planning and delivering a number of events and contests such as the BigIdea! Elevator Pitch contests, Maverick Business Plan Contest, Breakthrough Weekend, Maverick Young Entrepreneur Camp (day camp for junior high students), etc.
•     For all events, outreach to the Omaha business community to raise funds to support each event and program.
•     Significant engagement with the startup community at events such as 1 Million Cups and other entrepreneurial meetups.
·      Support the faculty who run the Maverick Venture Fund as it invests $200,000 year in student, alumni and community startups and assist in raising funds for the program
