Marketing Design Intern, Distribution Team - Fall/Winter 2022

Program Duration: October 3, 2022 - April 14, 2023
INTERN WILL LEARN AND BE EXPOSED TO:
NPR’s Distribution division serves as the bridge between public radio program producers and public radio stations, helping to deliver (by satellite and internet) the public radio shows you listen to every day.
We are seeking a creative digital artist with marketing skills to join us as a Marketing Design Intern. Our division is in the process of rebranding and recently launched our new website and help center. Help us create eye-catching pieces to compliment our new look. Our goals for this internship will include creating short tutorial videos and animations, laying out “how-to” guides and brochures, trade show booth design, composing infographics and cards to share on social media, managing our social accounts, landing page and email design, and more.   
The intern will work closely with Distribution’s marketing communications team developing designs in line with our branding strategy. The ideal candidate should be creative, passionate about design and UX, and eager to learn. This is an exciting opportunity to assist the Distribution Division as part of their rebranding effort. Opportunities to further assist the Marketing team will be available if interested (research, analytics, SEO, social media and more). 
INTERN RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Design promotional emails, presentations, landing pages, and graphics around upcoming events and campaigns
  • Create a variety of multimedia resources — gifs, motion graphics, infographics, cards and more — to be used on nprdistribution.org, our social media accounts and in training materials
  • Assist with updating our existing collateral and tradeshow booth so that it compliments our new branding
  • Produce a series of engaging instructional videos about ContentDepot and Metadata, as well as supplemental materials such as best practices and how-to guides.
  • Assist with managing our social media presence 
WHO CAN APPLY?
  • LOCATION: This internship will be fully remote. Must be planning to work from the United States throughout the fall/winter 2022 internship dates.
  • EDUCATION: Must be a current student in an accredited degree program or a recent graduate of no more than 12 months from the month of the start of the internship. 
REQUIRED SKILLS 
  • Experience designing in Adobe Creative Suite (or similar)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail with well-honed typographic and design skills
PREFERRED SKILLS
  • Designing for social media and social media management
  • Experience creating videos/animations (including screen captures and editing) 
  • Experience working with Canva (or similar program)
  • Graphic design experience
  • Marketing experience
  • Campaign planning
  • Webflow experience
SCHEDULE
  • 15-40 hours per week, flexible with the intern’s schedule
