Summer Accounting Intern

Ginkgo Residential LLC is an integrated multifamily investment, management and re-development company based in Charlotte, NC. We manage over 7,500 apartment units in more than 50 communities with a geographic footprint that encompasses North and South Carolina.
  
We are seeking a Summer Accounting Intern to join our team from May-August 2022. Consideration will be given to rising juniors, seniors or master’s degree candidates pursuing a degree in Accounting. This is a great opportunity for smart, driven individuals to gain meaningful experience in the field of Property Management while working closely with our Accounting team. The Accounting Intern will be exposed to many aspects of our day-to-day business operations and given the opportunity to play an important role in the future of the company.  

Job Responsibilities and Related Duties:
• Compiles and analyzes financial information in preparation for entry into various financial statements and accounting reports, and makes appropriate journal entries for recording in the general ledger by checking calculations, reviewing basis for figures, and balancing and reconciling figures

• Reviews budget, revenue, expense, payroll entries, invoices, and other accounting documents and researches and resolves discrepancies as necessary

• Performs bank reconciliations and wire transfers for deposit, and assist with Investor reporting. 

• Communicates with on-site and other property managers to assist in completing pre-close and close activities, answer questions, provide support, and ensure timely completion of accounting processes for on-time client and Company reporting

• Completes various financial, accounting, administrative, and other reports and analysis, and performs other duties as assigned or as necessary

Job Requirements:
• A rising junior, senior or Master’s degree candidate pursuing a degree in Accounting.  
• Ability to accurately understand the scope of assigned projects, goals and requirements through meetings, note taking and asking questions. 
• Knowledge of Accounting principles and the ability to analyze information. 
• Strong communication skills- interpersonal and written. 
• Strong sense of professionalism. 
• Organized, self-starter with a positive attitude. 
• Strong proficiency in Excel, Word and other MS Office products.
