Hiring College Students for 2018 Internship Programs

San Francisco International Airport is hiring for the 2018 College Internship Programs: SFO Summer College and Student Design Trainee. Selected interns will work directly with an SFO Mentor who will supervise daily tasks and larger scale projects. Past intern projects have included preparing complex reports, conducting surveys, assisting in construction projects, producing social media content, and being a part of implementing new IT technologies.   SFO interns will have a full summer experience, including tours of the airport, “Meet and Greets,” with executive staff members, and receive professional development training.

2018 SFO Summer College Internship

Deadline to submit application is February 14, 2018

Salary Level: $19.81/hourly | Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm, and 40 hours per week  

Internship is scheduled for 10 weeks over the summer, from June to August. 

Qualifying Majors: Open to All - Students must have earned 60 or more units and be returning to school in the fall of 2018. 

This program will expose students to the daily operations of the world-class San Francisco International Airport, which serves more than 45 million travelers annually and is a leading economic driver in the region. Students will have the opportunity to gain knowledge, skills, and experience in various offices. Participating sections may include: Bureau of Planning and Environmental Affairs: Wildlife, Environmental Operations, Environmental Policy & Sustainability, Emergency Management, Aviation Security, Aviation Development, Marketing and Communications, Social Media, Accounting, Business, the SFO Museum, and more. SFO Interns have a full summer experience, including tours of the airport, “Meet and Greets” with executive staff members, and professional development training.

2018 Summer Student Design Trainee Program

Engineering · Architecture · Planning· Computer Science/Information Services · Mathematics

Starting Salary: $27.5375 per hour

Deadline for Filing: February 14, 2018

Notification of Interview: March 12-16, 2018

Conduct Interviews: March 19-30, 2018

SFO and other City and County of San Francisco departments are hiring students who are studying engineering, architecture, planning, computer science/information services, mathematics and related disciplines to gain industry exposure in a public sector environment. Students can select to work at SFO or other City Departments such as: Department of Building Inspection (DBI), Department of Technology (DT), Municipal Transportation Agency (MTA), Port of San Francisco (Port), San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC), Public Works, and Recreation and Park Department (RPD).
