Press & Public Relations Internship

Position Objective:

The intern in the Public Relations department of Porsche Latin America, Inc. (PLA) will provide administrative and operational support to the PR Manager with the objective of strengthening the Porsche media image and brand representation in Latin America and the Caribbean.
 
Primary Responsibilities:
 
  • Manage PLA media monitoring and reporting in collaboration with PLA importers, Porsche AG and agencies
  • Generate weekly Latin America clipping highlights (reporting) for Porsche AG and PLA Management
  • Assist with coordination of international media events and projects: flight coordination and social program for journalists
  • Create media event reports to summarize the coverage on international media events
  • Coordinate Miami Lifestyle test drive program for journalists: test drives with pool cars, car logistics, hotel reservations, flight coordination
  • Develop and update media contact database in collaboration with PLA importers
  • Maintain Porsche Partner Network presence for PR Department, as well as tracking all the market’s activities via the Porsche Marketing Management System.
  • Assist with Christophorus (customer magazine) topics, such as the creation of PLA regional market pages
  • Create internal and external department presentations, gather information from other departments for this purpose
  • Support Press and PR Manager with day-to-day administrative duties
  • Draft basic public relations materials, including articles for PLA News, fact sheets, status reports and other materials in Spanish and English
  • Handle media-related requests from importers, regional media and agencies
  • Distribute press information and material, such as press releases, media kits and PLA News
  • Special projects as required
  • Temporary front desk work in addition to PR duties
 
Education:
 
  • Applicant must be actively enrolled in, or a recent graduate of, a university public relations, marketing, advertising, international business or other related program
 
Experience (Job and Industry):
 
  • Applicants who have completed an internship at Porsche AG are preferred
  • Knowledge of Porsche products, the automotive industry, or other luxury brands is helpful
 
Skills:
 
  • Ability to undertake basic public relations writing assignments
  • Understanding of basic media relations
  • Facility to interact professionally with media, importers, vendors and Porsche AG
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Willingness to take initiative and work proactively
  • Competence in working independently with little supervision
  • Ability to multi-task under pressure and demonstrate good judgment
  • Proficiency in English, very good written and spoken Spanish, Portuguese and German helpful
  • Good knowledge in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
  • Internet research
  • Ability to travel whenever needed
