Winstanley Architects and Planners is an award-winning design firm with a distinctive multidisciplinary practice which we run and are growing out of studios in Old Town, Alexandria, and Miami. Our 20-person firm has engagements from New England to the Caribbean, including Master Planning, Architecture, and Interior Design projects for a broad array of client profiles.
We are currently recruiting all level of architects with various experience to lead project teams in a variety of project types including academic, hospitality, multifamily housing, public facilities, interiors, and food and beverage facilities. Some of the key responsibilities required include directing projects from early design phases, organizing construction documents as well as construction administration.
The ideal candidate should possess experience and confidence in the following:
o Demonstrate a high level of organization and the ability to work in a fast-paced studio environment
o Ability to prioritize and concurrently service multiple projects
o Have the independent ability to think through problems, identify areas where direction is needed, and ask for it in a timely manner to continue progress on the job
o Be able to maintain effective communication with staff and subcontracted team members and possess a comfort level in dealing directly with clients.
o Coordinate project design and delivery with the owner, owner’s representatives, and design team consultants
o Strong Design sensibility at all scales of a project from overall project concept to detailing individual components
o Independently lead teams in preparing a complete set of working drawings
o Manage all aspects of construction administration
o Exhibit great communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
o Proficiency in current building codes and standards, and Revit / CAD, graphic design, and MS Office software.
o Model making and Rendering experience is a plus.
o Possess a professional degree in Architecture, such as a Master of Architecture, or a Bachelor’s of Architecture
o An Architect Professional Licensure is highly desirable.
