2022 Petroleum Engineer Summer Intern (Houston, TX)

As Petroleum Engineer, you will:
- Petroleum and reservoir engineering interns play a crucial role. That is why we offer you the opportunity to be involved in the application of leading edge technologies such as top-down reservoir modeling to manage subsurface uncertainties and Field of the Future techniques for real time data acquisition and management.
- Our engineers are essential to the creation of value for BP. Their involvement in technical consultancy, reservoir completion design and data acquisition recommendation programs mean they can impact on production operations and optimize plant performance.

Taking on the role as a Petroleum Engineering means ensuring reservoir & well performance, system optimization, reservoir & well management, and reservoir simulation. Alongside a strong degree in a technical field, such as petroleum engineering or a related degree, that means having excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for ensuring BP’s safety standards and new environmental ambitions.

Minimum Requirements
- Must have cumulative and major GPA of 3.2 or higher
- BP will not support US Immigration sponsorship for full-time or long-term employment
- Seeking a Bachelor's degree
Preferred Requirements
- Must be available for a continuous 12 week period for duration of internship
- Majoring in Petroleum Engineering, Reservoir Engineering or closely related discipline
- Students should be in the 2nd or 3rd year of a four-year degree program
- Internships are not available for students who have completed their degree or who will graduate prior to the conclusion of the internship
