Investment Banking Analyst I- Business Development (June 2021 Start)

Job Summary

Under general direction, uses extensive knowledge and skills obtained through education and experience to work with key industry verticals to drive new deal activity in a variety of financial products, including public and private debt and equity financings, mergers and acquisitions and financial advisory. Responsible for initiating, exploring and leading new and existing relationships for the business and working with decision-makers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Primary focus on deal sourcing through wealth management channels and other professional partner networks.
• Interface with deal team professionals to coordinate marketing, business development and deal sourcing activities.
• In-person meetings and phone calls with key business decision makers to build new and existing relationships for the firm.
• Work with industry bankers to develop and support the implementation of new business development strategies
• Use internal CRM and analytics tools for reporting and monitoring of prospect pipeline Develops client presentations.
• Participates in client meetings and calls.
• Follows general current events in respective industry groups and keep bankers informed about critical issues in the news relevant to potential clients.
• Maintains databases related to active and prospective deals.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of

• Fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of Investment Banking.
• Fundamental investment concepts, practices and procedures used in the securities industry.
• Financial markets and products.

Skill in

• Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Analytical skills sufficient to assess and explain events in the market.
• Problem solving skills and the ability to think independently sufficient to market ideas.
• Operating standard office equipment and using required software applications, including Microsoft Office and established databases.

Educational/Previous Experience Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) in related field.
• Minimum of 2 (two) to 3 (three) years of experience in the financial services industry.

Licenses/Certifications

• SIE required provided that an exemption or grandfathering cannot be applied.
• FINRA Series 7 or 79 License.
• FINRA Series 63 or the ability to obtain within six (6) months of hire
