Are you a Historically Black College/University (HBCU)/Minority-Serving Institution (MSI) college graduate or soon-to-be graduate who is ready to lead?
 
The NCDOT HBCU/MSI Fellows Program offers real experience and learning opportunities to recent college graduates (up to 3 years from graduation) who earned a Bachelor's/Master's degree (preferably from a North Carolina HBCU/MSI). All majors are welcome to apply especially those in:
  • Engineering
  • Public administration
  • Business administration
  • Marketing
  • English/Journalism
  • Planning and Project Management
 
As an NCDOT Fellow, you will engage in a 2-year fellowship with 2 rotations (12 months each) with select NCDOT business units. You will gain first-hand experience in the transportation industry, learn new business skills, and further your skills and knowledge helping us advance smart transportation. You will forge networking relationships with NCDOT professionals and obtain critical hard and soft skills to advance your career.

What You Bring
  • Bachelor or a Master's degrees earned from an HBCU/MSI within the past 3 years. Note: We will consider applications from HBCU/MSI's outside of North Carolina.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; team-orientation; collaborative; and adaptive to change.
  • Demonstrated skills in problem solving.
