Software Developer Intern

The Software Developer intern will work in the Application Development area of the   Information Technology Division and will provide support to software development teams working on a variety of automation projects. The intern will work closely with team members to develop software solutions to meet end-user requirements. The student will have an opportunity to use software development and database tools such as Microsoft .Net and SQL server. Over the course of the internship, the types of activities the student may participate in include:  

 

·        Develop software for the web, mobile or client/server platforms

·        Exposure to tools that enhance secure coding practices

·        Design website layouts which balance end-user requirements and web design principles

·        Build database queries to extract data required for software solutions

·        Apply business analytics and data science to big data

 

While participating in the above, a student will gain experience with programming languages and databases, system development life cycle methodologies, and have the opportunity to determine if a career in software development would be of potential interest upon graduation.

 

The IT Internship requires a minimum of two years of college coursework in computer science, information systems, digital media or other related disciplines.
