Human Resources Intern

SUMMARY 
Provides comprehensive support to HR department in all phases of human resources activity including, special projects, file maintenance, data entry and misc. duties and tasks.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Administers health and welfare plans, including enrollments, changes and terminations. Processes required documents through payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate record-keeping and proper deductions. 
  • Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions.
  • Maintains I-9 files and data entry into the payroll system.
  • Reconciles benefits statements.
  • Conducts audits of payroll, benefits or other HR programs and recommends corrective action.
  • Assists with processing of terminations.
  • Makes photocopies; mails, scans and emails documents; and performs other clerical functions.
  • Files documents into appropriate employee files.
  • Assists or prepares correspondence as requested.
  • Prepares new-employee files.
  • Administration of employee international work permit process and applications.
  • Employee background check requests.
  • Updating & classifying department procedures & processes into defined handbook.
  • Covers the Front Desk when required.
