NextEra Energy Summer College Intern Wind Resource Modeling Analyst (Meterology/Atmospheric Sciences)

Position Specific Description
WindLogics is currently seeking to add an intern to our Wind Resource Analytics team for the summer of 2019. In this role, you will be working with sophisticated weather, wind flow and statistical modeling tools.
 
As an intern to the Wind Resource Analytics team, you will support all aspects of modeling long-term wind energy production and wind farm design with the objective of eventually assuming independent production responsibilities. Core team responsibilities include, but are not limited to, data collection and filtering, running numerical modeling software, generating long- term wind energy production estimates, designing optimized wind turbine layouts, providing technology and measurement recommendations, and supporting other cross functional process improvement projects.

Meteorology, Atmospheric Science, Mechanical Engineering majors highly preferred. 
 
R, Python, Java, or similar basic programming experience highly preferred. 

Job Overview
Employees in the role will be provided mentoring and practical hands on experience for relevant career-related activities encountered in the student’s area of study or specialization. To be considered for this position the applicant must be actively enrolled at a college or university as a full-time student seeking a bachelor’s degree or higher. Candidate must also have a current GPA of 3.00 or higher (on a 0.00 to 4.00 scale).
