Research Intern - Spring 2019

Job Description


Lionano is looking for Research Intern for Spring 2019 to join its R&D team in Woburn, Massachusetts. The successful candidate will work closely with members of battery engineering group, and will primarily be responsible for lithium-ion pouch cell development, including preparing electrode and operating the pilot assembly line.


Qualifications


  • This is a paid internship supported by the MassCEC Clean Energy Internship Program. Candidates must attend, or have graduated within the past year from, a Massachusetts college or university, or they must be a Massachusetts resident, with proof of residency, who attended an out-of-state college or university.
  • Pursuing or holds a degree Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or related majors
  • Chemistry lab benchwork experience is required
  • Experience working with glove boxes and/or in a dry room is preferred
  • Fast learner with passion and dedication to the work at hand
  • Ability to work within project teams with dedication and technical excellence



Specific Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not restricted to:
  • Prepare electrode through various processing techniques, including weighing, mixing, blade coating, roll pressing, vacuum drying and die cutting
  • Operate the lithium-ion cell pilot assembly line
  • Provide operational support to project teams
  • Maintain compliance with all company protocols related to confidentiality, assignment of inventions, and other policies or duties as identified and assigned
