Job Description:
The Floor and Decor Summer Internship Program is an exciting opportunity for college students who would like to gain meaningful hands on experience in a corporate retail environment. As a part of the 10-week program, interns will have the opportunity to learn from leaders across all departments of the organization, gain exposure to the in-store environment, give a final report out to the Executive team, and participate in planned social and networking events throughout the summer. The internship will be based in our corporate office in Smyrna, Georgia.
Intern’s placement within each department will be dependent upon major and availability within the department. Potential departments available for placement include:
  • Accounting
  • Communications
  • Construction/Real Estate
  • Finance
  • Human Resources
  • Information Technology
  • Marketing
  • Merchandising
  • Safety & Asset Protection
  • Sales
  • Supply Chain/Operations

Minimum Eligibility Requirements
  • Full-time student working towards a Bachelor’s degree in applicable field; preferred candidates will be entering Junior or Senior year
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Experience with problem-solving and team building skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must be detail oriented and organized
  • Must possess excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Have ability to work full-time and for the duration of the 10-week summer program

Working Conditions (travel,  environment)
  • Limited travel including air and car travel
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to a warehouse environment and moving vehicles. The noise level in the work environment is typically quiet to moderate.

Physical/Sensory Requirements
Sedentary Work – Ability to exert 10 - 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
