Logistics Intern (Summer 2019)

What’s the opportunity?
The Logistics Intern is responsible for managing transportation flow from order placement to final carrier payment. The Logistics Intern will engage with key business leaders on day to day operations workflow by analyzing and developing logistics plans that meet customer expectations and support upstream functions in the supply chain. Interns will be assigned to a TMC account (customer) and will work to maximize customer satisfaction and minimize costs. Key responsibilities include order planning, optimization, exception management, freight pay resolution, and identifying operational efficiencies. Interns will be empowered to make decisions in conjunction with the Account Manager and Operations Manager on behalf of the customer.
What will you be doing?
·Manage and execute short lead orders.
·Monitor Navisphere® Load Board (from load shipment to delivery).
·Review transportation activity in the supply chain to proactively identify potential events.
·Manage daily exceptions.
·Manage service failures.
·Identify route guide changes.
·Identify operational efficiency gains and customer process improvements.
·Monitor potential late deliveries.
·Make and respond to all changes submitted from the customer in a timely and accurate manner (notify carriers, reschedule appointments, etc.).
·Provide prompt and professional response to customer’s requests for additional information.
·Hit tactical and operational KPI targets.
·Work with Central Operations and CSR teams to support administrative tasks and address any gaps that arise.
·Help manage reconciliation of weekly financial reports.
What are we looking for?
·Students enrolled in a Bachelors or Masters program in supply chain or other relevant fields preferred
·Detail oriented

·Strong written and verbal communication skills
·Ability to work flexible schedule on occasion
