Finance Professional Internship Program

Armstrong Flooring’s Finance and Accounting teams are committed to providing world-class leadership to drive profitable growth and industry-leading shareholder return. We are seeking motivated and talented college students that are currently in their Junior or Sophomore year for our Finance Professional Internship Program. The goal of this program is to cultivate well-rounded finance professionals, while also evaluating interns in real life business scenarios for potential long term employment.
 
The Finance Professional Internship Program:
In this paid, 10-week assignment, the program provides participants an outstanding opportunity to produce meaningful results, while gaining an understanding of business operations and developing a professional network. Internship assignments are located at our Corporate Headquarters in Lancaster, PA.
 
You will experience challenging projects, structured learning, formalized feedback and mentoring. 
 
The objectives of this program are: 
 
  • To develop the knowledge and theory you have learned in the classroom with practical application and skills development in a professional setting
  • To provide insight into a professional career path you are considering and gain understanding of how an organization operates in a practical sense. This includes gaining an understanding of professional roles, their skills and responsibilities, business operations, and exposure to the manufacturing industry
  • To develop and identify professional connections
  • For you to be able to articulate and identify what you have learned from the experience
  • To enable you to better articulate why (or why not) you are interested in this potential career path
  • To develop communication and problem solving skills
  • Gain exposure to public company accounting processes and systems related to the generation of the income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement
  • Assisting finance and accounting teams in compiling information, analyzing data, and tracking financial progress toward company objectives

  • Assisting finance and accounting teams in compiling information, analyzing data, and tracking financial progress toward company objectives
 
What we are looking for:
  • College juniors or sophomores of a bachelor’s degree program in Accounting, or Finance
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0, completion of at least 2 college-level Accounting and/or Finance courses
  • Leadership experience through involvement in student organizations and/or community service
  • Demonstrate strong skills in communication, interpersonal relations and teamwork
  • Strong Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and financial modeling skills
  • Knowledge of U.S. GAAP and internal controls is a plus
  • Have a natural curiosity, knack for analysis and problem solving, and the drive to roll up your sleeves and get things done
