Leonardo DRS Land Electronics (DLE) has locations in Huntsville, AL and Melbourne, FL. DLE is a leading designer, manufacturer and integrator of highly engineered, technically advanced defense electronics and systems for U.S. and allied international military and intelligence agency applications. DLE specializes in the manufacture and integration of rugged communications components serving military command, control, communications, computer intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (C4ISR) initiatives, and we are a leading provider of ground vehicle diagnostic and test equipment. Products include cyber-hardened laptop and server computers and networking components, integrated voice/data/routing subsystems, integrated Battle Management Systems and software, vetronics, vehicle-mounted systems supporting man-portable and combat vehicle applications, and fixed and mobile command post solutions.

Position Summary

Experience with circuit design and development using Cadence tools. Familiarity with the following preferred: Electronic design, Cadence tools, Intel architecture, computer communication protocols, and video display control.

Responsible for a specific technical activity and completion of assigned task on time and budget. Design, develop, analyze, document and support testing of products, systems or subsystems. Uses computer-aided engineering or other design/analysis software in the performance of assignments. Ability to work independently

Involved with the design, development, modification and analysis of various electronics systems. May include Hardware, Power Engineering, Power Electronic Engineering, Electromagnetic Engineering, Integrated Circuit Engineering, Components or others. Troubleshoots and diagnoses malfunctions in existing products or systems and makes modifications as needed. Compiles and evaluates design and test data. Analyzes, develops and recommends design approaches.

Primary Accountabilities:

·     Responsible for technical activity and completion of assigned task on time and budget

·     Design, develop, analyze, document and support testing of products, systems or subsystems

·     May use computer-aided engineering or other design/analysis software in the performance of assignments.   Ability to work independently, regular reporting of progress and status

·     Review customer specifications and requirements, and under direction develops designs to best support them, including cost as a key design variable

·     Provide budget, cost and schedule input for design assignments

·     Specify and evaluate supplier components, subsystems and services

·     Support the program design to cost and design for manufacture requirements

·     Develop prototypes to retire key development risks

·     Communicate clearly (written and oral) with other company personnel and the customer as required

·     Participates in preparation of less complex proposals

·     May provide technical knowledge and assistance to other engineers and support personnel

·     Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization

Qualifications

·     Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering

·     Competent technical expertise and application domain knowledge
