Business Management Intern

Handshake is looking for a business management intern to join our team. This candidate will join a fast-paced environment, working directly under our COO to assist in the refinement of our processes and support varying operational needs. The candidate will engage in business development needs, tracking against project status and budgets, building out or workplace culture, and will leverage his or her organizational and research skills to tackle a variety of deliverables. The internship will provide the student with in-depth knowledge of the day-to-day of operations inside a quickly-growing small firm. Candidates will be considered on a rolling basis for positions during the Spring and/or Summer of 2019.
 
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
- Assist Client Experience team to track the progress of client projects as it relates to the overall business
- Work closely with the COO and CFO to assist on tracking status against project budgets
- Assist with the development and testing of operations-based software and processes
- Improve upon our onboarding documents and process
- Assist in business development research
- Work alongside our COO to build workplace culture
- Participate in calls and meetings, both internal and external

Education, Experience, and Key Competencies
- Junior or senior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business administration, management, finance, or a similar field
- GPA of 3.3+, unless qualifying work experience can be provided
- Excellent time management, verbal, and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects independently and adapt as priorities develop
- Ability to collaborate with internal team members to meet objectives
- Thoughtful, proactive, independent and analytical thinker
- MS Office proficiency
- Entrepreneurial experience or experience working remotely a plus
- Willing to submit professional and personal references
 
Time Commitment
20 hrs/wk 


Location
Primarily remote w/ meetings in hub city of New York City, Fort Lauderdale, or Miami depending on applicant location. Team members across U.S. 


Compensation
Class credit or pay by a stipend award. This will be discussed at the time of interview.
