Intern, Information Technology

The Information Technology Internship is a full-time paid (minimum wage) internship position beginning in March 2018 and ending in December 2018.The Information Technology Intern will be responsible for providing 1st level support for the IT Help and assisting the IT department in software and hardware project deployments. This position is meant to inspire and promote learning essential skills for ground level work in the field of technology. This position will be working a set amount of games and events in which they will support as an IT representative.

Essential Functions:
  • Providing 1st level support for the IT Help Desk
  • Assisting in desktop deployments, troubleshooting hardware and software issues
  • Working with the department on IT projects and supporting the user community as a whole
  • General support of internal customer client computing devices, software and peripherals and maintain the inventory of such equipment.
  • Take calls to resolve internal customer concerns and implementing new equipment
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule which includes nights and weekends from April 1 through October 31.
  • Must be a self-starter who is able to multi-task, be a quick learner and work in stressful environments independently and within the group.
Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Knowledge of Windows XP/Windows 7/10 desktop support and Microsoft Office products, as well as a basic knowledge of networking.  
  • MCSA/MCSE, A+, N+, as well as Citrix knowledge is a plus.
  • Prior help desk or customer service experience a plus
  • macOS X knowledge is a plus.
Suggested Education & Experience Guidelines:
  • A CIS/MIS Associate’s Degree or current enrollment in an undergraduate CIS/MIS major is preferred.
Student learning outcomes:

·         Student will be mentored by our IT Team on a daily basis as they get to learn more about the company and the IT industry

·         Student will apply tools and technologies they have learned throughout their studies and apply them to aid all front office staff

·         Student will learn to apply information technology within a sports organization and how it can apply to baseball

·         Student will learn about IT databases and tour the server rooms located in the building
