Do you have strong communication and organizational skills? Are you interested in working on communication and outreach efforts for complex, controversial projects in the Portland metro region? If so, ODOT wants you! Come join our team as a major projects planning intern through our popular College Internship Program. In this role you will work on pedestrian, bicycle, and transit issues, support traffic analysis work, and/or provide planning and public involvement support for the I-5 Rose Quarter Improvement Project.
The College Internship Program is designed to allow students matriculating through an accredited post-secondary program the opportunity to gain practical experience. We are accepting applications from planning or civil engineering college students who will have completed at least their sophomore year by June 2018, or those who have recently graduated (within the last two years). There are two internship positions available.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be a college student studying planning or civil engineering who will have completed at least their sophomore year by June 2018. Recent graduates within these fields (who have graduated within the last two years) are also invited to apply.
Special Qualifications:
Driving is an essential function of this position. A valid driver license and an acceptable driving record are required for this position. We will conduct pre-employment driving records checks on our final candidate(s).
Additional Details:
- The length of this assignment will be a maximum of 1,040 hours, spread out over a three-month to one-year time period. Schedules can be flexible, pending the specific needs of projects. Hours will be up to 40/week.
