Spring internship at SABIT Program
Internship opportunity at the U.S. Department of Commerce
The Special American Business Internship Training Program (SABIT), under the U.S. Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration, has unpaid internship opportunities for currently enrolled students for spring 2018. Hours are flexible.
Interns will gain valuable insight into U.S. technical assistance programs and roles which various U.S. Government agencies and industry associations play in supporting U.S. companies. They will become part of a team which supports U.S. companies in building business relationships and creating economic development opportunities in foreign markets. Interns will gain a unique perspective on challenges facing U.S. exporters working in transition and emerging economies, as well as the satisfaction of providing concrete assistance to U.S., Eurasian, and South Asia business communities. They will also gain an understanding of international trends in a variety of industries.
SABIT is looking for
high-performing undergraduate or graduate students who are interested in
international development programs and technical assistance, current trade
policy issues, and international business. Familiarity with Eurasia (countries
of the former Soviet Union) and South Asia (especially Sri Lanka) is desirable.
This internship will further develop knowledge in the aforementioned regions.
Knowledge of Russian or other regional languages may be helpful on occasion but
is not required.
Activities may include:

Online research in various industries
· Coordination of meetings with U.S. companies and organizations
About SABIT:
The Special American
Business Internship Training (SABIT) program is a technical assistance program
that encourages economic development and fosters international business
relationships. SABIT brings delegations of international business leaders from
Eurasia and South Asia to the U.S. for two- to three-week professional
development training programs.
