Position Overview

Canon, U. S. A., Inc. is currently hiring for our 2018 Canon Insights Intern Program.  The Insights Program is a comprehensive program that runs for 10 weeks during the summer. This is a full-time (9 AM to 5 PM), 35 hours a week, paid internship. This program is designed to provide students an opportunity to gain hands-on work experience by participating in significant work projects and exposure to various business units within Canon.
 
 Responsibilities
Work with the online and in-person customer education departments within the Customer Experience Innovation Division. You will help to develop updated market analysis in consumer photography, on-line video creator communities and non-traditional imaging trends. You will also assist with daily activities around reporting and metrics from our programs, content/programming research. Lastly, you will help to spearhead out-of-the-box marketing outreach for our various programs.
 
Position/Project Description:
 
Marketing:
- Support group Asset Management initiative (culling and organizing event images)
- Submit ideas for Social Media Brief, Marketing outlets, IBM connections
 
Attendee Feedback and communication
- Pull completed survey information and compile with event end
- Collect submitted images taken by Attendees for future use in our social media, galleries and other
- Answer questions that come in the various CDLC and Live Learning e-mail in-boxes and flagging messages that need to be addressed in other
 
Research
- Social Media Attention and Trends as they pertain to our programming
- Emerging markets, such as YouTube and Creative Live
- SPP and other giveaways, pricing
- Future programming ideas
 
Logistics Support
- Assisting with Registration coding
- Update Inventory/Location lists
 
Website Management
- Assist with stats gathering
- Locate/gather/organize Digital Assets
- Assist with Canon Digital Learning Center >> New Web Migration
Assist with Thought Industries site maintenance (ie posting content)

Qualifications

We prefer students that are entering their Junior or Senior year as of the Summer 2018, however, all are welcome to apply. To succeed in the Insights Program, you must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong computer skills including MS Word, Excel and Power point, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team. We also require candidates to be enrolled in a related major in the department of interest and have some former work or internship experience.
 
- Mid to high level expertise in Excel, Mac/Windows OS
- Basic experience in Photoshop desired (we are willing to train)
- Interest/experience/background in photography strongly desired but not required
- Social Media Marketing or Events Planning experience strongly desired but not required
