The Global Oncology and International Programs at the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center developed out of the vision to strengthen and thoroughly align education, research, and patient care to address cancer disparities in low resource areas in Latin America and the Caribbean.   

The disparity in cancer treatment is a global public health crisis. “Global Oncology” refers to the application of the concepts of global health to cancer, and implies an approach to the practice of oncology that acknowledges the reality of limited resources in most parts of the world. 

The program seeks an intern to execute a branding strategy for the initiative both internally and externally. 

The intern would be responsibly for the following tasks:

-Initiate, plan, write, manage, and execute quarterly eNewsletter

-Initiate program's social media presence, including scheduling update and writing content

-Write content and interview faculty members

-Update Global Oncology & International website when needed

-Organize and attend weekly meetings with Director and Project Manager

-Develop outreach strategy and development plan to reach private and corporate donors 

-Collaborate with Director and Project Manager on new ideas, directions, and venues for marketing and communications 

-Assist in conference planning and execution
