Student QA Engineer

Part-Time Student QA Engineer (Remote) - No Experience Required

Help build Chronom.ai from the early days. Grow your skills while we grow the company. ~5–15 hrs/week, fully remote, async.

Chronom.ai is an early-stage startup, and we’re looking for a curious, detail-obsessed student to be our first QA hire. You’ll ship with the founders, catch issues before users do, and help shape how quality is done here. No prior industry experience needed - we’ll teach you. Bring energy, ownership, and a love for polished products.

What you’ll do

Learn the product fast and test new features as they ship.

Spell-check and copy-QA all user-facing text; keep tone and terminology consistent.

Make sure flows feel great end-to-end (labels, empty states, loading/errors, responsiveness).

Verify data is correct by cross-checking UI with source data/API responses.

Run manual tests (functional, regression, exploratory, cross-browser).

(We’ll teach you) add light automation and keep smoke/E2E tests green in CI.

File crisp bug reports with repro steps, expected vs. actual, environment, and screenshots/video.

Partner closely with engineering to refine features, triage issues, and verify fixes.

We hire for potential (no prior experience required)

You might be early in your journey - that’s perfect. We’ll coach you if you bring:

Exceptional attention to detail (typos and tiny UI mismatches bother you).

Clear communication in an async, remote setup.

Fast learner who enjoys new tools and figuring things out.

Reliability for ~5–15 hrs/week around classes.

You’ll grow in

Test design, exploratory testing, and writing great bug reports.

Web app testing with devtools and basic API checks (Postman/Insomnia).

Automation fundamentals (Playwright/Cypress) and CI basics.

Collaborating in a real startup environment with tight feedback loops.

Cloud fundamentals (AWS/GCP/Azure): navigating consoles, reading logs, basic IAM/permissions, tracing errors across services.

DevOps basics: Docker & Kubernetes workflows, CI/CD hygiene, environment management, and observability (metrics, logs, alerts).

Nice to have (totally optional)

Playwright/Cypress or basic scripting (JavaScript/Python).

Git/GitHub familiarity, GitHub Actions.

Cloud/Kubernetes basics (AWS/GCP/Azure, Docker).

UI/UX sensibility or accessibility checks.

Schedule & Location

Fully remote, async-first with occasional real-time check-ins.

Designed for students and flexible around classes/exams.

Why Chronom.ai? Real impact, direct mentorship, and a chance to leave your fingerprints on a product used by real customers. If you’re hungry to learn and want your first line in tech to matter, this is it.
