Mobile Developer Intern (React Native, iOS & Android)
Mobile Developer Intern (React Native, iOS & Android)
About Mago Pro:
Mago Pro is building the next generation of field service management software for the service industry: landscaping, HVAC, plumbing, pest control, and more. Our platform brings scheduling, routing, client management, invoicing, and more into one affordable, easy-to-use tool. We're a small, fast-moving team currently finishing testing ahead of launch, and interns contribute to real, production-bound work from day one.
The Role:
As a Mobile Developer Intern, you'll help build the two mobile apps at the heart of the Mago Pro experience: the Worker App, used by technicians and crews in the field, and the Client App, used by the homeowners and businesses they serve. You'll work in React Native and TypeScript alongside experienced developers, shipping to both the App Store and Google Play. Interns will contribute across both apps and take primary ownership of one based on their strengths and team needs.
What You'll Work On:
- Build and refine cross-platform mobile UI using React Native, Expo, TypeScript, and NativeWind (Tailwind for React Native)
- Worker App: daily job schedules, turn-by-turn route views, clock in/out, job checklists, before-and-after photo capture, and notes that sync back to the office
- Client App: booking and requesting service, viewing and approving quotes, paying invoices, service history, and appointment reminders
- Implement push notifications, location services, camera access, and offline support for workers in low-signal areas
- Turn designs into clean, production-ready screens that feel native on both iPhone and Android
- Work with backend developers to connect features to our API
- Join code reviews, test on real devices, and help prepare builds for App Store and Google Play release
What We're Looking For:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mobile Development, or a related field
- Familiarity with React or React Native and modern JavaScript/TypeScript
- Experience with Expo, mobile app publishing, or native device features (camera, GPS, notifications) a plus
- Experience with Tailwind CSS, NativeWind, or similar utility-first styling a plus
- Access to an iPhone or Android device for testing
- Comfortable with Git and remote collaboration
- Eager to learn and contribute from day one
Schedule & Compensation:
- $100 weekly stipend, 20+ hours/week, beginning once you complete the trial sprint and paid retroactively for the trial sprint weeks
- 12-week initial term, with potential to continue and convert into a paid role as Mago Pro grows
- Fully remote, flexible schedule with two team check-ins per week
- Happy to support academic credit if your school offers it
Our Interview Process:
- One-Way Video Interview (7–20 minutes)
- Technical Interview (Video call with Owner and Team) (35–50 minutes)
- Trial Sprint Period: 1–5 weeks
Our Culture:
- Clear Communication: share updates early to avoid blockers for others
- Ask Questions: understand the "why" behind what you're building
- Best Idea Wins: every team member's input matters, regardless of title
- Take Ownership: like the service professionals we build for, own your work and see it through
