Microdrama Screenwriting Intern

Plot Party is building the creative infrastructure for the next generation of short-form storytelling. We work with creators, studios, and platforms to develop and produce AI-native and AI-hybrid microdramas - highly serialized, mobile-first stories designed to hook audiences in seconds and keep them watching episode after episode.

We’re looking for a Microdrama Screenwriting Intern who loves storytelling, understands internet-native entertainment, and wants to learn how to write addictive short-form drama.

What You’ll Do

You’ll work directly with our creative and production team to develop original microdrama concepts and turn them into highly watchable serialized stories.

This is not an internship where you spend your time taking notes in meetings.

You’ll get hands-on experience with writing stories that are actually produced.

Responsibilities include:

Adapt original microdrama loglines into 30–60 episode microdrama formats

Rewrite scripts based on audience retention, production constraints, and creative feedback

Brainstorm new formats, tropes, characters, and story premises with the creative team

You may be a great fit if you:

Are currently studying or recently graduated in screenwriting, film, creative writing, literature, or a related field - or simply have a strong writing portfolio

Have a strong instinct for plot, conflict, romance, character chemistry, and cliffhangers

Already watch ReelShort, DramaBox, ShortMax, GoodShort, or similar platforms

Understand that microdrama writing is different from traditional film or television: every episode needs to move

Can write quickly and take feedback without becoming overly attached to a draft

Are comfortable using AI tools as part of the creative process

Bonus points if you:

Speak or read Chinese or Hindi.

Have written serialized fiction, web novels, fanfiction, interactive fiction, or social video content
