Agricultural Marketing Internship

Location: Reynoldsburg, OH
Internship Pay: $15/hour
Internship Term: November 2026-August 2027
*Part-time – 10-15 hrs./week from November 2026-April 2027 and 40 hrs./week from May-August 2027

Overview
The Agricultural Marketing Internship offers hands-on experience supporting two of Ohio’s signature marketing programs: Ohio Wines, which promotes the state’s thriving grape and wine industry, and Ohio Proud, the statewide program identifying food and agricultural products made and grown in Ohio.

This internship is designed to give students meaningful, practical exposure to agricultural marketing, program development, partner engagement, and public outreach.

Key Responsibilities
Ohio Wines

  • Assist with marketing campaigns highlighting Ohio’s wineries, growers, and wine regions.
  • Support content development for websites, social media, newsletters, and promotional materials.
  • Help coordinate events, outreach activities, and industry meetings.
  • Conduct research on wine industry trends, consumer preferences, and promotional opportunities.

Ohio Proud

  • Support recruitment and onboarding of Ohio Proud partners.
  • Participate in developing promotional content showcasing Ohio-grown and Ohio-made products.
  • Assist in organizing outreach events, farm market promotions, and retail collaborations.
  • Help maintain program data, partner directories, and marketing assets.


Cross-Program Responsibilities

  • Contribute to storytelling efforts through interviews, photography, and field visits with producers.
  • Assist in data collection, survey design, and light analytics to evaluate program impact.
  • Provide general administrative, communication, and marketing support as needed.

Learning Goals – Start of Internship
By the beginning of the internship, the student will:

  • Understand the mission, history, and core functions of both Ohio Wines and Ohio Proud.
  • Gain familiarity with basic marketing concepts, content creation practices, and brand standards.
  • Establish initial goals in coordination with program staff based on areas of interest (e.g., event support, research, partner engagement).

Learning & Performance Goals – Completion of Internship
By the end of the internship, the student will be able to:

  • Demonstrate hands-on experience developing and executing agricultural marketing strategies.
  • Produce well-crafted marketing materials such as social posts, partner spotlights, or promotional assets for both programs.
  • Show strengthened communication skills through engagement with producers, partners, and industry stakeholders.
  • Understand how state-level agricultural marketing programs operate and contribute to Ohio’s agricultural economy.

Desired Qualifications

  • Interest in agriculture, marketing, communications, or related fields.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Creativity, curiosity, and willingness to learn.
  • Experience with social media tools, Canva, photography, or analytics is a bonus but not required.
  • Sophomore or junior standing in a college or university program.
