Social Media & Content Intern — Paid
Social Media & Content Intern — Paid
STR Refresh is a growing short-term rental design company based in Utah. We help Airbnb and vacation rental owners create properties that stand out, photograph better, and ultimately perform better.
You’ll work directly with me and my wife, the founders, and have a real role in helping build the STR Refresh brand.
The main focus of this position is social media and content creation.
We have a lot to share: Airbnb projects, before-and-afters, mood boards, design decisions, property walkthroughs, installs, and finished homes. I’m looking for someone who can help turn all of that into content people actually want to watch, save, and share.
You don’t need years of experience. I care more about your creative instincts, your eye for design, your ability to write naturally, and whether you follow through.
What you’ll be doing
Creating and scheduling content for Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn
Editing short-form videos and Reels from project footage
Turning our projects into before-and-afters, carousels, project breakdowns, and educational posts
Helping us film content about our business, projects, and design process
Coming up with hooks, captions, video ideas, and recurring content series
Repurposing one project or idea into multiple pieces of content
Keeping a manageable, consistent weekly posting schedule
Bringing relevant trends and fresh ideas to the table
Tracking what performs well and using that to improve future content
Organizing project photos, videos, and testimonials so they’re easy to use
Who I’m looking for
Someone who enjoys creating content, understands what feels current on social media, and can take an idea from rough concept to finished post.
More than anything, I want someone proactive—someone who sees an idea and says, “We should make our version of this,” and is excited to help bring it to life.
Experience with CapCut, Canva, or similar editing and design tools is helpful. Photography, video, and familiarity with AI tools are also welcome. An interest in interior design, Airbnb, real estate, or entrepreneurship is a plus.
Personal accounts, school projects, and content you’ve made just for fun all count as experience.
What you’ll gain
You’ll get hands-on experience building a brand, a chance to create portfolio work from real design projects, and direct feedback from the founders. You’ll also learn how we approach Airbnb design and how content connects to the bigger picture of running a business.
Position details
Hours: 10–12 hours per week
Starting pay: $16/hour
Bonuses: Potential performance-based bonuses as the role develops and agreed-upon goals are met
Schedule: Flexible around classes, with agreed-upon deadlines and filming times
Location: Hybrid—mostly remote, with occasional in-person filming and work in the Provo/Orem area
How to apply
Please submit your resume and short answers to these three questions:
What are 2–3 brands, creators, or social accounts you think make really good content, and what do you like about them?
If I gave you photos, video clips, a mood board, and the story behind one of our Airbnb projects, what are a few pieces of content you would create? A few bullet points are plenty—no need to make actual content for the application.
Share something you’ve created that you’re proud of. It can be a Reel, TikTok, social post, video edit, design, personal account, or school project. If it was a group project, tell us what you contributed.
You don’t need a huge portfolio. I’m looking for good instincts, initiative, and someone who’s excited to learn by doing.
