Business Development Representative

Plenty of good renters in New York get turned down because they can't show 40x the rent or find a guarantor earning 80x. Panda covers that gap for landlords, so they can approve the applicant and still get paid. Our customers are the landlords, property managers and brokers who lease those apartments, and this role is about winning them over, mostly in person. We're a small team at One World Trade Center, and we want someone early in their career who likes meeting people and wants their pay to track how well they do.

Any major, any background. We care about drive and how you work with people.

The Role

This is our first BDR hire. You'll build the outbound motion with the founders.

The job is pipeline. You'll call, email, and visit leasing offices and management companies across the five boroughs. You'll book meetings with property managers, owners and brokers, test what messaging lands, and bring back what the market tells you so we can sharpen the product and the pitch. Get ready for lots of emails, calls and in-person lunches and dinners with prospective landlord partners.

You'll sell three products on one platform:

  • Lease Guarantee: renters qualify without a personal guarantor, and landlords are covered for unpaid rent.
  • PandaDeposit: a security deposit alternative.
  • PandaRenters: renters insurance from $15 a month, just launched.

More than 31,000 units are already on the platform. And we're growing fast.

Why Panda

  • Closer or leadership: you pick the path, and it moves fast.
  • You work directly with the founders, with no layers in between.
  • You own your pipeline and your progression from day one.
  • NYC is the biggest rental market in the country. A year here and you'll know everyone in it.

Who You Are

  • Early career is welcome. If you have a sales record, it shows up in your comp.
  • You've done well somewhere that took effort and people skills: sales, leasing, service, sports, campus leadership, anything.
  • You're comfortable starting conversations with people you don't know.
  • You stay steady after a no and keep going.
  • You want a fast pace and real responsibility early.
  • You are organized, persistent and dependable.
  • You want to work in our NYC office at least 4 days a week.

Comp

$75,000 to $150,000 OTE, based on experience.
