City Management & Communication Intern

The City of Veneta is recruiting for a City Management and Communication Intern (CMCI). The City Management and Communication Intern position provides a talented individual with the opportunity to gain experience and learn about working within local government. The CMCI will use their skills in, communication, community engagement, event planning, organization, and project management to support the Economic Development Department for the City of Veneta. 

In this role, the CMCI will collaborate with the Management Analyst to coordinate and develop City messaging through the City’s communication channels, including Facebook, Instagram, and the City’s website, social media, and other communication channels. Additionally, they will assist in coordinating events like Veneta’s National Night Out and City Hall’s Open House. The CMCI will participate in weekly meetings with the City’s Communication Team and attend monthly committee meetings as their schedule permits. The CMCI will also have the opportunity to develop and spearhead a project in areas related to economic development, public policy, or city management.

Hourly Compensation: $20

Time Commitment: 15 to 20 hours per week for an approximately six-month term (January through June 2027), with the potential for renewal based on performance and available funding.

Minimum Qualifications: Any combination of experience and education that would likely provide the required abilities, knowledge and skills to perform essential job functions.
