Social Media PR Strategist

We’re hiring: Social Media, PR & Media Strategist | Los Angeles

📍 Full-Time | In-Office | Los Angeles

We’re looking for someone who understands that great social media starts with a great story.

This person will help lead our social presence while actively building the media relationships and earned visibility behind our brands, launches, research, and leadership.

We need someone who can look at what’s happening and ask:

What’s the story? Who should care? How do we get people talking about it?

What you’ll own:

* Develop and execute social content across LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, X, and emerging platforms
* Identify timely content and story opportunities, not simply fill a content calendar
* Turn launches, research, partnerships, and milestones into compelling social and media narratives
* Conduct proactive media outreach every day to journalists, editors, producers, newsletters, podcasts, and relevant industry voices
* Build and continuously expand targeted media lists and relationships
* Develop personalized story angles and pitches for specific reporters and publications
* Follow up consistently and turn outreach into earned media opportunities
* Draft press releases, pitches, contributed articles, executive commentary, and thought leadership
* Be confident and natural on camera, whether creating social content, covering an event, conducting an interview, or participating in a timely trend
* Help capture and create content in real time
* Amplify earned media across social and digital channels
* Track social performance, media outreach, relationships, and placements

Who we’re looking for:

A strong storyteller who understands both how attention is earned on social and how media relationships are built.

You should know how to research a journalist, understand what they cover, develop a relevant angle, write a personalized pitch, follow up, and build the relationship over time.

You should also understand today’s social environment: what makes someone stop scrolling, how to recognize a trend worth participating in, and how to translate a bigger company story into content people actually want to watch.

Daily media outreach, hands-on social content creation, and on-camera participation are core responsibilities of this position.

Strong writing skills and strong social instincts are essential. Existing media relationships are highly preferred.

Experience across AI, technology, education, healthcare, or medical media is a major plus.

We need someone who can turn what’s happening into stories people want to follow and stories the media wants to cover.

📍 This is a full-time, in-office position in Los Angeles. This is not a remote or hybrid role.

Interested? Send me an email with your resume, examples of your social work, on-camera content, and PR/media pitches or placements you’ve worked on to: q.zhou@residentsmedical.com
