Role Overview

Beam’s Founding Engineer will work directly with the CTO and dev team to expand and optimize the existing application. You will own major feature development, contribute to architectural decisions, and influence the product direction based on user behavior and creator needs. This is a role for a builder who wants meaningful ownership, early responsibility, and the ability to shape a real product from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ship new features end-to-end across frontend and backend
  • Improve and refine existing systems: user dashboards, data architecture, web hook handling, payments.
  • Participate in product ideation and user-driven problem solving
  • Identify and fix performance issues, bugs, and UX blockers
  • Add APIs, integrations, and automation where needed
     

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong experience with React, Next.js, Typescript
  • Solid backend skills (Convex, Vercel, Clerk, Doppler)
  • Experience integrating external APIs (Stripe, social APIs, scheduling APIs)
  • Comfort working end-to-end on full-stack features
  • Strong problem-solving and product intuition
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, scrappy environment with minimal guidance
  • Bonus: experience with data analytics, algorithms, integrations.
