Social Media & Business Operations Intern

Here's a draft job description for Handshake:

Social Media & Digital Marketing Intern (with Business Operations Stretch) The Glass Market | NYC (Hybrid) | Part-Time Internship

About The Glass Market

  • Fast-growing early-stage company building a brand from the ground up
  • Small, scrappy team where interns get real ownership, real reps, and real visibility into how a business runs
  • Looking for someone hungry to learn across marketing AND operations — not just push posts

The Role

  • Own day-to-day execution across our social channels (Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn) and digital marketing efforts
  • Get exposure to the wider business — inventory, events, fulfillment, partnerships, and whatever else needs a sharp set of hands that week
  • Work directly with the founder/leadership team

What You'll Do — Social & Digital Marketing

  • Plan, shoot, edit, and publish content across IG, TikTok, and LinkedIn
  • Help run and report on paid digital campaigns (Meta, Google, influencer)
  • Manage the content calendar and community engagement (DMs, comments, UGC)
  • Track performance and surface what's working / what's not
  • Support email marketing (Klaviyo or similar) and website updates

What You'll Do — Business Operations Stretch

  • Help coordinate events, pop-ups, and on-the-ground brand activations around NYC
  • Pitch in on order fulfillment, vendor coordination, and light logistics
  • Run the occasional pickup/dropoff or store visit (this is why a car matters)
  • Build simple systems and trackers to keep the team organized

You Might Be a Fit If You

  • Are a current undergrad or recent grad with demonstrated interest in marketing, brand, or entrepreneurship
  • Live and breathe social — you know what good content looks like and can make it yourself
  • Are comfortable with Canva, CapCut, Figma, or similar tools (bonus: Photoshop, Premiere)
  • Are organized, proactive, and don't need to be told twice
  • Want to learn the operational side of a brand, not just the marketing side
  • Have a car and are willing to use it (mileage reimbursed)

Logistics

  • 2 days/week minimum in person; flexible on which days
  • NYC-based strongly preferred (you'll be at our space + on-the-ground around the city)
  • Paid hourly — rate based on experience
  • Start date: flexible
  • Duration: semester-long with potential to extend

To Apply

  • Submit your resume + a short note (3–5 sentences) on why you're interested
  • Optional but encouraged: link to social accounts, content, or brands you've worked on
