LeadingAge New York is a statewide membership association representing more than 350 not-for-profit and public providers of long-term care, services, and housing. We are currently seeking candidates for two opportunities within our Advocacy and Public Policy Department:
Senior Policy Analyst (Full-Time)
The Senior Policy Analyst serves as a key resource to nursing homes and assisted living providers across New York State. This position monitors legislative and regulatory developments, provides compliance guidance, analyzes public policy issues, and supports advocacy initiatives on behalf of long-term care providers.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required
- At least three years of relevant experience in public policy, healthcare, government affairs, advocacy, regulation, or a related field
- Strong analytical, writing, and communication skills
- Ability to translate complex regulations into practical guidance
Compensation: $70,000 to $80,000 plus an exceptional benefits package and generous paid time off.
Policy & Legislative Intern (Part-Time)
The Policy & Legislative Intern will support policy staff through legislative tracking, research, meeting coordination, advocacy communications, and social media content development. This is an excellent opportunity for students interested in public policy, political science, public administration, healthcare administration, communications, or related fields.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong writing and organizational skills
- Interest in government, public policy, healthcare, or advocacy
- Professional communication skills via phone and email
- Experience with Canva, social media, Constant Contact, or website editing is a plus
Internship Details:
- 18-20 hours per week
- Hybrid/remote flexibility
- Two-semester commitment preferred (Fall through June)
- Hands-on exposure to legislative advocacy and healthcare policy
