THE OPPORTUNITY
Build your portfolio while gaining hands-on experience in marketing, content creation, and digital merchandising for a specialty guitar shop. Help promote vintage and used gear through photography, video, social media, and website content — and see firsthand how creative marketing connects products with customers.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
• Create photos and short-form videos featuring guitars, amps, pedals, and other interesting gear.
• Research products and write engaging descriptions, captions, and other marketing content.
• Help plan social content, update website listings, and organize digital assets.
• Track basic engagement and help identify which content connects with customers.
• Work directly with the owner and staff and learn about unusual, vintage, and collectible instruments.
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
• A current student or recent graduate in marketing, communications, digital media, photography, video, or a related field.
• Someone creative, dependable, comfortable with social media, and interested in music. Vintage-guitar expertise is not required.
• Some experience or interest in photography, video, writing, design, social media, or digital marketing. Work samples are encouraged, not required.
WHAT YOU’LL GAIN
Real-world marketing and commercial content experience, published portfolio work, professional studio lighting, access to a constantly changing inventory of interesting instruments, and direct mentorship from an established specialty retailer.
THE DETAILS
Flexible 10–15 hours per week around academic commitments. $17–$20/hour based on experience and qualifications. Internship credit available. You’ll need access to a suitable camera or high-end smartphone, a laptop, and photo/video editing software.
