Social Media Intern / Event Design Assistant

We are seeking a highly creative and visually driven Social Media Intern / Event Design Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will help shape the visual look of our social media pages, while capturing that aesthetic for our digital audience.

You will work alongside our lead designer to curate event themes, mock-up proposals and build physical décor at on site set up, while simultaneously managing behind-the-scenes content creation for our social platforms.

This position offers direct experience in experiential design, visual branding, and aesthetic-driven content creation.

Key Responsibilities

• Visual Content Creation: Design highly aesthetic social media graphics, mood boards, and promotional material using Canva or Adobe Suite.

• Aesthetic Content Capture: Document the step-by-step design process, from sourcing materials to final venue setups, for TikTok, Reels, and Pinterest.

• Event Styling Support: Assist with on-site styling, including table landscapes, signage placement, and backdrop builds.

• Client & Proposal Support: Participate in client meetings and contribute to proposals, presentations, and other client-facing materials.

• Design Research: Curate digital mood boards, research trending event decor styles, and source creative materials or vendors.

• Digital Community Management: Engage with followers, reply to style inquiries, and manage user-generated content from event attendees.

• Inventory Management: Help organize, prep, and pack design inventory, props, and styling kits before and after events.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Education: Recent graduate or current student in Interior Design, Graphic Design, Event Design, Marketing, or Fine Arts.

• Visual Portfolio: A strong eye for composition, color theory, and styling, ideally demonstrated through a portfolio, school projects, or a curated social feed.

• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Canva or Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator/Photoshop). Familiarity with 3D modeling or floor-planning software is a plus.

• Proposal writing skills.

• Smartphone Production: Experience filming and editing clean, highly aesthetic short-form video content (CapCut/TikTok).

• Physical Capability: Ability to stand for long periods on setup days, lift decor items up to 25 lbs, and handle hands-on crafting or assembly tasks. 

Job Details

Employment Type: Full-Time Internship (Could become full-time permanent position)

Location:  This role requires work on-site in our Frederick, MD facility and also requires frequent overnight and multi-day domestic travel with event teams.

Compensation: full time salary starting at $38,000/ College credit eligible
