Film Pitch Deck & Graphic Design Intern — Horror / Entertainment

Creative Pitch & Visual Storytelling Intern — Film & Horror

About Hemmy Productions

Hemmy Productions is an independent production company developing a portfolio of feature films and television projects. We are currently preparing several projects for professional entertainment industry outreach and are looking for a creative student to join us on a unique pitch-development project.

The Opportunity

We are developing a new creative pitch presentation for an original supernatural horror feature with long-term franchise potential.

This is not simply a graphic-design assignment.

We are looking for a student who can help us explore how a new horror character can be positioned as a potential next-generation horror icon—and how that vision can be communicated through a compelling visual presentation.

You will work directly with the Producer to help develop both the creative strategy and visual storytelling behind the presentation.

What You May Work On

Depending on your skills and interests, your responsibilities may include:

  • Helping refine the narrative and messaging of the creative pitch
  • Researching horror films, characters, franchises and audience trends
  • Exploring how iconic horror characters have evolved over time
  • Helping identify what makes a horror character memorable and commercially compelling
  • Developing ideas for how the project's franchise vision should be communicated
  • Designing presentation slides and visual layouts
  • Selecting and organizing visual references and imagery
  • Helping establish the presentation's overall visual identity
  • Translating creative concepts into a professional entertainment presentation
  • Reviewing, refining and improving the presentation based on feedback

The Creative Challenge

At the heart of this project is a question:

Is the horror genre ready for its next iconic monster?

We want to explore what separates an ordinary horror villain from a character that audiences recognize, remember, fear, discuss and ultimately want to see again.

The goal is not simply to present another horror movie.

The goal is to communicate a larger franchise vision to entertainment industry professionals.

Technical / Design Skills

  • Familiarity with presentation or design tools such as Canva, PowerPoint, Google Slides, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar software
  • Basic understanding of visual layout, typography, imagery and presentation design
  • Ability to create or contribute to professional-looking visual presentations

Then make the advanced software preferred, not required:

Preferred: Experience with Canva, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, or similar creative tools.

  • Graphic Design

  • Entertainment
  • Marketing
  • Advertising
  • Digital Media

  • Or a related creative field

You do not need to be a Hollywood expert.

We are looking for someone who is creative, curious, analytical, willing to research, and comfortable bringing their own ideas to the table.

A student with strong visual-design skills and an interest in film, marketing or storytelling would be an especially good fit.

What You'll Gain

This internship provides an opportunity to work on a real entertainment project from creative concept through professional pitch presentation, rather than a classroom exercise.

You can gain practical experience in:

Creative Development • Visual Storytelling • Entertainment Pitching • Presentation Design • Genre Research • Marketing Strategy • Franchise Positioning

Portfolio & Professional Credit

Your work can become a meaningful addition to your professional portfolio.

Students who make substantial creative or design contributions may receive professional credit on the completed presentation, based on their contribution and subject to the project's confidentiality and production requirements.

With approval from Hemmy Productions, students may also include their completed work and credited contribution in their portfolio and résumé.

This is an opportunity to be able to say:

“I contributed to the creative development and visual pitch presentation of an original feature-film franchise project.”

A Two-Way Creative Experience

We believe a good internship should benefit both the student and the production company.

You will have the opportunity to learn from our experience developing and preparing entertainment projects for industry outreach, while we want to hear your perspective, ideas and creative approach.

You won't simply be given instructions and asked to make slides.

We want you to help us think.

Interested?

If you are interested in the intersection of film, horror, marketing, design, visual storytelling and entertainment, and the idea of helping develop a pitch for a potential horror franchise sounds exciting, we would love to hear from you.

Bring your creativity. Bring your ideas. Help us answer one question:

What does the next horror icon look like?
