Public Relations Specialist
Classification: Independent Contractor (hourly)
Compensation: $18/hour
Schedule: Part-time, as needed (flexible hours based on project requirements)
JOB SUMMARY:
The Public Relations Specialist position with 20 A-M Productions, LLC is an entry-to mid-level part-time independent contractor position, created specifically for early-career professionals, e.g. college seniors in their final semester, current graduate-level students, or those who already have graduated. This part-time / hourly position is for those that have skills within public relations, marketing, advertising, community relations, traditional media relations, social media, event management, and brand management.
This position is not an internship, nor is it for undergraduate students not yet in their final semester.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
As a PUBLIC RELATIONS SPECIALIST (independent contractor position), the selected candidate will assist 20 A-M Productions, LLC and its clients with public relations, communications, community relations, writing, friendraising and fundraising, event management, and marketing-related services.
Contractor responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Content Creation & Social Media
- Draft, schedule, and publish social media content across client platforms
- Assist in developing content calendars and campaign ideas
- Monitor engagement and provide basic reporting
- Capture and post real-time content during events and assignments
Writing & Communications
- Assist in drafting press releases, media alerts, and pitches
- Write e-blasts, newsletters, and marketing copy
- Proofread and edit content for clarity, grammar, and consistency
- Support media outreach and list development
- Research grant opportunities
- Write and submit grants on behalf of clients
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS, CONTINUED
Photography & Videography
- Capture photo and video content at events, client sites, and assignments
- Perform basic editing of photos and videos
- Organize and maintain digital media files
Design & Creative Support
- Create graphics using Canva or similar tools
- Assist with development of marketing materials and promotional assets
- Maintain visual consistency with client and Company branding
Event Representation & Support
- Attend and represent clients at events (including chamber events, trade shows, and community functions)
- Assist with event setup, coordination, and on-site communications
- Interact professionally with clients, media, and the public
General PR & Administrative Support / Additional Responsibilities
- Assist with research, reporting, and campaign tracking
- Maintain organization of files, content, and materials
- Communicate regularly with Company and, when appropriate, clients regarding project needs
- Perform other related duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, & EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations, journalism, or related field (or already in final semester of receiving respective degree).
- Experience in the aforementioned fields (which can include internship experience).
- Must also have experience writing either press releases, feature stories, grants, proposals, etc.
- Strong verbal and written communications.
- Strong project management skills
- Familiarity with AI tools
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in what can be a fast-paced environment and maintain attention to detail.
- This position is created specifically for college seniors in their final semester, current graduate-level students, or those who already have graduated. WORK ENVIRONMENT
- This is a hybrid position, consisting of work-from-home, attendance at respective events on behalf of us and our clients, and sometimes work from our office in Orlando (Maitland).
- Regular use of a computer and databases
- Our work hours typically occur during normal M-F business hours. However, due to potential 20 A-M client needs, must be able to work flexible hours which includes evenings and weekends based on business and client needs.
TIME & EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS
This position entails variable hours, potentially 5–20 hours per week, depending on Company and client needs, as well as Contractor’s availability.
Contractor must provide their own:
- Computer/laptop
- Smartphone (for communication and content capture)
- Access to necessary tools (e.g. Canva or similar platforms)
- Reliable internet connection
- Photography/video equipment is preferred but not required unless otherwise specified for certain assignments.
