Blue Byron Books Campus Ambassador

Blue Byron Books is the publishing house imprint of Ridea.

Blue Byron Books is redefining American culture and ideas by amplifying innovative, bold, and imaginative voices.

We’re a growing collective of young writers, designers, editors, thinkers, and creatives working together to publish thoughtful and original work. We're built largely by Gen Z and Millennial digital natives and believe culture becomes more interesting when young people are given opportunities to create, experiment, and share ideas with one another.

We're looking for Campus Ambassadors to bring Blue Byron Books onto college campuses across the country.

This is an opportunity designed for students who love books, ideas, culture, events, and bringing people together.

Campus Ambassadors receive complimentary author copies of Blue Byron Books titles to read, share, and use in organizing campus events.

What You'll Do

As a Campus Ambassador, you'll become Blue Byron Books' presence at your university.

You'll have considerable freedom to experiment with what works on your campus. Potential activities include:

  • Organizing a monthly Blue Byron Books book event
  • Selecting and featuring books from our growing catalog
  • Bringing students together for conversations around books and ideas
  • Creating book-club-style gatherings that feel more like cultural happenings than traditional book clubs
  • Inviting BBB authors or collaborators to participate virtually or, when possible, in person
  • Introducing students to emerging young writers and creators
  • Helping document events through photos and video
  • Creating opportunities for conversations to become content for Blue Byron Books' digital channels like YouTube
  • Developing your own ideas for expanding BBB's presence on your campus

The bigger goal is to create spaces where young people meet around new books and new ideas, originated by young people

Who We're Looking For

You might be a strong fit if you:

  • Are currently enrolled at a college or university
  • Love books, ideas, writing, culture, or publishing
  • Enjoy bringing people together
  • Are outgoing enough to start something rather than wait for something to exist
  • Are curious, open-minded, and willing to learn
  • Think independently and aren't afraid to experiment
  • Are comfortable taking initiative with limited supervision
  • Have an entrepreneurial or creative mindset
  • Want meaningful experience building something from the ground up

You do not need previous publishing, marketing, or event-planning experience.

Talent matters—but so does mindset. Across Blue Byron Books, we prioritize initiative, curiosity, accountability, and follow-through over conventional credentials.

How We Work

Blue Byron Books is a technology-forward publishing collective operating primarily through remote collaboration.

We:

  • Give green lights, not micromanagement
  • Value initiative, clarity, and accountability
  • Embrace experimentation and new formats
  • Encourage collaborators to take ownership of their ideas
  • Believe great things are built together

You'll be connected with the larger Blue Byron Books collective while having the independence to shape what BBB looks like at your campus.

What You'll Receive

Campus Ambassadors receive:

  • Complimentary author copies of selected Blue Byron Books titles
  • Direct experience working with an emerging independent publishing house
  • Experience organizing and producing real-world cultural events
  • Opportunities to interact with BBB authors, writers, and creatives
  • Opportunities to create published digital/video content around events
  • A chance to develop a Blue Byron Books community at your university
  • Portfolio and résumé experience in publishing, community building, events, and cultural marketing
  • Opportunities to grow into other Blue Byron Books projects and collaborations

Why We're Doing This

We don't want books to simply sit online waiting to be discovered.

The cultural climate in America is ripe for new, fresh, innovative voices and ideas

A Blue Byron Books Campus Ambassador helps create a direct connection between emerging authors and the students who might find something meaningful in their work.

A gathering around a book can become something bigger: a conversation, a new friendship, a new idea, a piece of content, or inspiration for someone to create something themselves.

Our ambassadors can help make those moments happen.

Interested?

Please apply with:

  • Your résumé
  • A brief cover letter explaining why this interests you

You don't need to have everything figured out.

We're looking for curious, ambitious people who want to make something happen.
