AI Systems Intern — Architecture, Agents & Production Builds
AI Systems Intern — Architecture, Agents & Production Builds
Location: Hybrid — Salt Lake City, South Jordan, or Logan, Utah Employment Type: Part-Time (10–15 hours/week) Compensation: $25–$45/hr plus KPI bonuses
The role
This isn't a "shadow a senior engineer and update some docs" internship. You'll work on real AI systems already in production, used by real clients, and help design new ones from scratch. If you think in systems — architectures, flows, tradeoffs, this is the environment for it.
What you'll do
- Design and contribute to product architecture in real software: data structures, generative AI workflows, and agent/sub-agent systems - UI/UX design - Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines that keep production builds stable and shippable - Work with vector and graph pipelines, indexing, retrieval, embedding strategies - Profile and reduce latency across AI inference and data retrieval layers - Collaborate on new system designs before they go to production - Write code that ships — not just prototypes
About you
Required: - You think in systems. You naturally ask about data flow, bottlenecks, tradeoffs. - Comfortable with at least one programming language used for backend/AI work (Python is most common here) - Generative AI code experience — personal projects, open-source contributions, coursework — with AI/ML concepts or pipeline work - Clear communicator; remote-friendly working style.
Nice to have: - Familiarity with vector databases (Voyage, Pinecone, Weaviate, Chroma, etc.) or graph databases (Neo4j, etc.) - Experience with LLMs and prompt engineering or agent frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex, CrewAI, AutoGen, etc.) - Exposure to CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, CircleCI, Jenkins) - Any production deployment experience — even a side project you actually shipped
No CS degree required. We care about what you've built and how you think.
Systems first.
You are applying to be apart of a startup, with real work at your fingertips.
