UI/UX Designer

UI/UX Designer — Healthcare AI Products

Role Overview

We are a healthcare AI technology team focused on building intelligent software products for real-world healthcare workflows in the U.S. Our products span multiple environments, including mobile, tablet, large-screen, and smart-device experiences.

We are looking for a UI/UX Designer with strong visual taste, product thinking, and enthusiasm for AI to help shape and continuously improve the visual language and user experience across our products.

This role is not only about making interfaces look good. We care equally about whether the design feels clear, professional, trustworthy, and effective in complex real-world workflows.

We are looking for someone who can think about design at both the product and brand level, help create a consistent visual system, and work closely with product and engineering teams to bring designs into production.

What You Will Do

1. Product UI/UX Design

  • Design user experiences across mobile, tablet, large-screen, and other smart-device environments
  • Participate in the full design process from wireframes and information architecture to high-fidelity UI
  • Structure dense or complex information through clear hierarchy, navigation, feedback states, and interaction flows
  • Adapt experiences for different screen sizes, viewing distances, and interaction patterns
  • Continuously improve product usability and visual quality based on real user feedback

2. Design Systems and Visual Standards

  • Build and maintain a consistent product design language and visual system
  • Define and refine color, typography, iconography, components, and interaction patterns
  • Maintain consistency across products and device types
  • Evolve the component library and design system as the product grows

3. Brand and Visual Expression

  • Contribute to the development and refinement of the company’s visual identity
  • Support design needs across product interfaces, websites, presentation materials, and other visual assets
  • Ensure visual output remains consistent, professional, and recognizable across different touchpoints
  • Improve the overall visual quality and brand feel while supporting functional product needs

4. AI Product Interaction and Design Efficiency

  • Understand interaction patterns unique to AI products, including conversational interfaces, dynamically generated content, review, and feedback workflows
  • Explore ways to make interactions between users and AI more natural, clear, and efficient
  • Use modern AI tools to support design exploration, visual creation, prototyping, or productivity
  • Critically assess whether AI-generated outputs meet product, usability, and brand standards rather than relying on generated content at face value

5. Design Handoff and Implementation

  • Provide clear design specifications, component states, interaction guidance, and development annotations
  • Work closely with product managers and engineers to ensure designs are implemented accurately
  • Consider real product states such as loading, empty, error, and varying data conditions
  • Adjust designs based on technical constraints while maintaining a strong balance between design quality and implementation efficiency

Qualifications

Required

  • Strong UI/UX design fundamentals and a strong visual sense
  • A complete portfolio or representative design samples
  • Work that demonstrates visual quality, product thinking, and your design process from problem to solution
  • Proficiency with Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar design tools
  • Strong understanding of information hierarchy, layout, typography, color, and visual structure
  • Ability to design for complex information and multi-step workflows rather than only simple screens
  • Strong systems thinking and an ability to maintain consistency across a broader product experience
  • Interest in AI products and the evolving interaction patterns between people and AI
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with product, engineering, and non-design teams
  • High attention to design detail and a willingness to continuously refine product experiences

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in any of the following is helpful, but not required:

  • Strong visual design background or a degree in visual communication, interaction design, industrial design, or a related field
  • Experience building or contributing to a design system from 0 to 1
  • Experience with SaaS, B2B, enterprise, or complex workflow products
  • Experience with healthcare software, healthcare technology, or other specialized industries
  • Multi-device design experience across mobile, tablet, large-screen, or smart hardware
  • Experience designing for robotics, smart devices, or hardware interfaces
  • Familiarity with AI products, AI-assisted workflows, or generative AI interactions
  • Experience using AI tools to improve design exploration, prototyping, or productivity
  • Familiarity with HTML / CSS or basic frontend implementation concepts
  • Experience with brand identity, websites, or marketing visuals

What We Value

Visual Taste

We place a strong emphasis on visual quality.

We are interested not only in whether a screen is complete, but whether you demonstrate a strong understanding of:

  • Information hierarchy
  • Spacing and layout
  • Typography and color
  • Visual rhythm
  • Component consistency
  • Overall product polish

Please include a portfolio, personal website, Behance, Dribbble, Figma project, or other representative work samples with your application.

We would especially like to see 2–3 projects that best represent your visual taste and design capabilities.

Product Thinking

We are not looking for someone who only makes screens look better. We want a designer who can understand product logic, organize complex information, and use design to solve real problems.

We care about:

  • Why you made a particular design decision
  • What problem the design was intended to solve
  • How you approached complex information
  • How you balanced aesthetics, usability, and implementation constraints

Ownership

We value designers who proactively identify design problems, propose solutions, and help move improvements forward rather than waiting only for fully defined screen requests.

Engagement Options

We are open to different forms of collaboration:

  • Full-time employment preferred
  • Part-time collaboration with a consistent weekly commitment
  • Project-based work tied to defined deliverables or milestones
  • Advisory / consulting arrangements for ongoing design direction

Compensation and engagement structure will depend on experience, capabilities, and the type of collaboration.

Interview Process

  1. Portfolio Review
Submit a portfolio or representative work samples that demonstrate your visual taste, UI/UX capabilities, and product thinking.
  2. In-Depth Discussion
Meet with the team to discuss your design approach, selected projects, and your perspective on AI products and complex user experiences.
  3. Design Exercise, if applicable
Depending on the role and engagement model, a small design exercise may be included.
