Marketing & Event Coordinator
Confetti & Cocktails LLC, an experiential event venue and candle studio in Dumfries, Virginia, is seeking a Marketing & Event Coordinator Intern to help grow our online presence, manage class and event bookings, and work hands-on at live events. This role suits a student who thinks like a marketer but isn't afraid to be on their feet running a room. You'll split time between content creation/administrative coordination and direct event execution, including guest check-in and bar/beverage service support during evening and weekend programming.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, create, and schedule social media content (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok) showcasing classes, events, and behind-the-scenes moments
- Design promotional graphics and event flyers using Canva
- Manage class and event bookings through Bookeo, including scheduling, capacity tracking, and confirmation communications
- Support HoneyBook client communications for private and corporate event inquiries
- Photograph and video classes, events, and finished products (candles, floral arrangements, culinary items) for marketing use, using equipment provided by Confetti & Cocktails
- Work on-site at events and classes across all programs — guest check-in, room setup/breakdown, and beverage/bar service support under ABC compliance protocols
- Track engagement metrics and help identify what content and event formats perform best
- Assist with drafting newsletter and community partnership content (e.g., neighborhood newsletters, local business collaborations)
Qualifications & Eligibility
- Currently enrolled as a junior or senior at a Virginia public or private college or university (2- or 4-year), or intending to enroll for the upcoming semester
- Holds a high school diploma and has not yet completed an undergraduate degree
- At least 18 years of age (required for on-premises alcohol service duties under Virginia ABC regulations)
- Demonstrates maturity, professionalism, and sound judgment when interacting with guests, vendors, and alcohol-service protocols
- Reliable, punctual, and comfortable in a small-business, hands-on environment
- Willingness to sign a standard Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) prior to the internship start date. Interns may have access to proprietary business information, including recipes, customer information, and internal business processes. The NDA is intended to protect confidential company information and does not restrict interns from discussing their professional experience or skills developed in future job searches or academic settings.
- Interest or coursework in marketing, communications, hospitality, or business
- Comfortable with (or eager to learn) Canva, Instagram/TikTok scheduling tools, and basic booking software
