Copywriting Intern

THE POSITION

We are looking for a Copywriting Intern to help shape how Agency communicates across its website, email, social media and other marketing channels. You’ll write and refine copy that brings our brand voice to life, explains product benefits clearly, and inspires customers to take action. You understand the power of the written word and have a strong sense for language. This is a hands-on role where your ideas and output will make a real impact.

  • Commitment: Part-time (exact hours to be discussed)
  • Format: In-person, hybrid or remote
  • Duration: Through December 14, 2026 (start and end dates adjustable)
  • Compensation: Unpaid
  • Academic Credit: Available (if approved by your school or program)

  • Build writing and editing skills across website, email, digital advertising, social media and product collateral 
  • Understand how brand voice, target audience, channel and business objectives guide messaging decisions
  • Gain experience translating product features and technical information into clear, customer-focused benefits
  • Develop a repeatable process for researching, drafting, editing and improving copy based on feedback and performance

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Write and refine customer-facing copy across product pages, email campaigns, digital ads, social media, packaging, and retail materials
  • Translate product features and technical information into clear, relevant customer benefits
  • Develop headlines, hooks, calls to action, product descriptions, and campaign messaging
  • Adapt messaging for different audiences, channels, formats and stages of the customer journey
  • Apply Agency’s brand voice and messaging guidelines consistently across touchpoints
  • Research customer needs, competitor messaging and relevant industry trends
  • Repurpose existing content into lengths and formats appropriate for different channels
  • Collaborate with design, social media, and other team members to align written and visual communication
  • Review and proofread copy for clarity, accuracy, grammar, and consistency
  • Organize and maintain messaging resources with version histories
  • Review customer feedback to identify opportunities to test and improve copy

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Outstanding command of and fluency with the written word
  • A curious, organized and dependable self-starter
  • Strong work ethic, careful attention to detail, and solid communication skills
  • A proactive, problem-solving mindset
  • A portfolio of completed work

NICE TO HAVE (BUT NOT REQUIRED)

  • Basic understanding of marketing concepts and e-commerce metrics
  • Interest in e-commerce, marketing, branding and/or entrepreneurship 
  • Familiarity with any of the following tools:
    • Google Workspace: Drive, Sheets, Docs, Forms, Meet, Calendar
    • E-commerce: Shopify, Microsoft Clarity, Klaviyo, Meta Business Suite, Google Merchant Center, Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Google Keyword Planner
    • Creative: Canva, Figma, CapCut, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere or similar
    • AI: Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini or similar
    • Social Media: Instagram, Linkedin, TikTok, YouTube
    • Project Management: Asana, Trello

PHILANTHROPY

We partner with Laguna Canyon Foundation, a local non-profit that leads conservation, trail maintenance and protection of the South Coast Wilderness. Every quarter, we volunteer as a team to support trail maintenance, beach cleanup or other local causes.
