Curb Appeal Designer (UI/UX Design Intern- Remote)
The Short Version
In real estate, curb appeal is what makes someone stop the car. That's your job, but for screens.
About Your Home Page
Working here means life inside an early-stage startup: a small team, fast decisions, and real ownership from day one. There's no ladder of approvals to climb — if you have an idea worth testing, you're pitching it to the team and trying it out that same week. You'll wear more than one hat, priorities can shift day to day, and progress is measured by what actually ships, not hours logged. Interns get real projects instead of busywork, and it's common to see something you built go live to real customers within days. We love using AI and are not afraid to use it to 10x our work.
Your Home Page is a platform that turns social media into a place people can actually shop for homes. Someone sees a post, taps in, and can view the listing or message the agent directly.
The Role
Our product is the first thing a homebuyer sees after tapping an agent's Instagram link, and we have about four seconds to earn the next tap. As our Curb Appeal Designer, you'll help make sure that experience is clean, fast, obvious, and beautiful.
You'll work across product design and marketing design: app screens, landing pages, signup flows, email templates, and social graphics. You'll get real design feedback from real users, which is rare and extremely valuable this early in a career.
What You'll Do
- Design and iterate on screens, components, and flows for our web app
- Build landing pages that stay on-brand
- Turn written briefs into wireframes and then into polished mockups
- Audit existing flows and flag where users get confused or drop off
- Contribute to and help maintain our design system and brand library
- Present your work, explain your reasoning, and defend your choices (kindly)
What You'll Walk Away With
- Shipped product work in your portfolio: actual screens real users touched
- Fluency in Figma and in the language of design critique
- Experience designing for conversion, not just for looks
- An understanding of how design decisions connect to business outcomes
Who We're Looking For
- Currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate student
- Working knowledge of Figma
- A portfolio, coursework, or personal projects that show your eye. Polish matters less than thinking
- You notice when things are misaligned and it bothers you a little
- Bonus points: any exposure to design systems, accessibility, or basic HTML/CSS
Preferred Majors
Graphic Design, UX/UI Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Digital Media, Visual Communication, Computer Science, Studio Art
How to Apply
Apply through Handshake with:
- Your resume
- A short note (150 words max) telling us about your career goals. Skip the formal cover letter or AI slop. We'd rather hear how you actually talk and how we can help you achieve your career goals.
- A link to something you've made. A portfolio, a social account you run, a class project, a spreadsheet you're weirdly proud of, a TikTok that did numbers, a school project. Anything. If you don't have one, share a company that inspires you and why.
We review applications on a rolling basis and reply to every applicant. Questions? Email hello@yourhomepage.ai.
Want to show us you read the entire job description? Email us & introduce yourself.
Your Home Page is an equal opportunity employer. We welcome applicants of every background, and we especially encourage students who don't see themselves in traditional tech job postings to apply anyway.
