IT Project Management Office (PMO) Intern

The IT Project Management Office (PMO) Intern will gain hands-on experience supporting technology projects and project governance within a healthcare environment. Working alongside experienced project managers, the intern will be exposed to the full project lifecycle, including project intake, planning, execution, monitoring, reporting, and closure. 

The internship is designed to provide practical experience in project management while allowing the intern to contribute to active initiatives across the organization. The intern will gain exposure to healthcare technology, project governance, portfolio management, stakeholder engagement, and enterprise project management tools and processes.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

· Assist Project Managers with planning, coordination, documentation, and tracking of active technology projects.

· Participate in project meetings and assist with agendas, meeting notes, action items, and follow-up activities.

· Support project schedule development and maintenance, milestone tracking, and status reporting.

· Assist with maintaining project information and documentation within ServiceNow and other PMO tools.

· Support project intake and governance activities, including preparation and organization of project documentation.

· Assist with tracking project risks, issues, decisions, dependencies, and action items.

· Gain exposure to resource and capacity planning, portfolio management, and project prioritization.

· Participate in PMO operational and portfolio review activities.

· Work with Project Managers and stakeholders across clinical, operational, and technology teams.

· Assist with PMO process improvement, reporting, documentation, and special projects.

· Learn and apply established project management methodologies, standards, and best practices.

· Complete a meaningful internship project or deliverable that contributes to continued PMO improvement.

 

Required Qualifications 

Prior project management or healthcare experience is not required

· Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in Project Management, Information Technology, Information Systems, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Health Informatics, or a related field.

· Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

· Demonstrated ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.

· Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.

· Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.

· Interest in project management, healthcare technology, healthcare administration, or information technology.

· Ability to work collaboratively in a professional team environment.
