Help Build a Grassroots Congressional Campaign
Want to experience what it’s actually like to work on a competitive congressional campaign?
Nicole Locklin for U.S. Congress is looking for motivated, politically engaged students to join our campaign team as Political Campaign Fellowship Interns.
This is not a traditional “sit at a desk and observe” internship. Fellows will get hands-on experience in campaign operations, grassroots organizing, voter outreach, events, communications, and political strategy while working directly with a growing congressional campaign in South Florida.
You’ll have the opportunity to see how a campaign goes from strategy to execution—and how everyday conversations with voters translate into a movement.
What You’ll Do
Depending on campaign needs and your interests, you may:
Engage directly with voters through phone banking, canvassing, and community outreach
Assist with organizing and mobilizing volunteers
Support campaign events, community meetings, and grassroots activities
Help coordinate event logistics and campaign materials
Maintain volunteer lists, schedules, and campaign records
Assist with voter outreach and tracking campaign interactions
Conduct basic research on local issues affecting South Florida communities
Support social media and digital outreach
Help create and distribute campaign materials
Participate in campaign meetings and organizational planning
Take on special projects based on your skills and interests
What You’ll Gain
This fellowship is designed for students who want more than a line on their résumé.
You’ll gain practical experience in:
Political Campaigning
Learn how grassroots congressional campaigns operate from the inside.
Field Organizing
Develop real-world experience communicating with voters, recruiting volunteers, and building community support.
Campaign Strategy
See how political messaging, voter outreach, events, and organizing work together.
Communications & Digital Media
Contribute to campaign communications and digital outreach.
Professional Development
Build relationships with campaign staff, community leaders, volunteers, and political professionals.
Leadership & Teamwork
Take responsibility for real campaign projects in a fast-moving environment.

Are a college student or recent graduate interested in politics, government, public service, communications, law, policy, organizing, or community engagement
Are genuinely interested in how political campaigns work
Communicate clearly and listen well
Are comfortable speaking with people from different backgrounds
Are organized, dependable, and willing to learn
Can work effectively in a fast-paced team environment
