Small and mid-sized food operators represent roughly 40 to 60 percent of total food sales. Their operations remain fragmented, manual, and under-digitized. SupplyBistro exists to close that gap.

Our SaaS platform turns everyday operational workflows into real-time, doubly validated data. That data helps our customers increase sales, reduce operating costs, improve purchasing decisions, gain visibility across their supply chain, and operate on analytics instead of instinct.

At SupplyBistro, we do not believe in paper internships.

Our interns do not spend a semester observing meetings, organizing files, or working on projects that never leave the classroom. Every intern joins a team with a clear mission, measurable objectives, and meaningful ownership.

From day one you will contribute to projects that reach our customers, our platform, and our company's growth. Whether you are developing software, designing products, implementing AI, analyzing data, building partnerships, or supporting a fundraising process, your work becomes part of the business. You will collaborate with founders, engineers, product managers, designers, and business leaders on problems real customers are facing.

We believe the best way to learn is by building. That also means accountability. Interns are trusted with meaningful responsibilities and are expected to communicate professionally, meet commitments, seek feedback, and improve continuously. We provide mentorship and guidance. We also expect initiative, curiosity, and ownership.

Our internships are designed to replicate the experience of being an early member of a growing technology company. The challenges are real, the expectations are high, and the learning is substantial.

OUR COMMITMENT TO STUDENT SUCCESS

School comes first.

SupplyBistro follows a strict School Comes First policy. Your education always takes priority over your internship. We build schedules around exams, coursework, thesis work, and academic deadlines, and we expect open communication when your academic load changes. No student should ever feel forced to choose between this internship and their degree.

PROGRAM TERMS

Location: Remote — US-incorporated company

Duration: 2 to 6 months, with the possibility of extending

Commitment: About 20 hours per week, flexible around your class schedule

Compensation: Unpaid — academic credit supported

Student Levels: Undergraduate, Master’s, MBA, PhD

Mentorship: Close support network with constant access to company leadership

Project Ownership: You own named deliverables from start to finish
 

These are unpaid, education-first internships, structured so that the student is the primary beneficiary: the work is tied to your academic and career development, it complements rather than displaces the work of paid staff, and it is designed to be eligible for academic credit where your institution offers it. An internship with SupplyBistro does not carry an entitlement to a paid position at its conclusion.

FORMATS AND ELIGIBILITY

Formats:  

Summer, fall, and spring internships / Multi-semester / Co-op / CPT / OPT, including STEM OPT as a possibility. Extended internships are encouraged and students who want to continue past their original term usually can.

Eligibility:

US and international students. We support CPT and OPT documentation, and we complete the paperwork your school requires to award credit.

Experience:

Coursework, research, personal projects, previous internships, employment, or entrepreneurship - preferred, not mandatory. We value potential and initiative above credentials.

PROGRAM | OPERATIONS
 

PROGRAM MISSION

Make the company run. Operations is where strategy becomes a schedule, an owner, and a deadline. You will work across every function — engineering, product, growth, and finance — building the cadence, the metrics, and the processes that let a small team move like a much larger one.

AREAS OF FOCUS

Chief of Staff: Executive priorities, cross-functional initiatives, and reporting

Scrum Master: Sprint planning, ceremonies, and delivery cadence

Business Operations: Process design, KPI development, and internal systems
 

EXAMPLE PROJECTS

Projects our students own, not tasks they assist with.

- Run sprint planning and delivery cadence for a cross-functional team

- Draft and track company OKRs alongside the founders

- Design a process that removes a recurring bottleneck, then measure the difference

- Build the executive reporting package used in leadership review

- Define KPIs for a function that does not have them yet

- Build operational dashboards from live platform data

- Lead an initiative that crosses engineering, product, and growth
 

SKILLS YOU WILL DEVELOP

Technical: Project and task management systems, dashboard and reporting tools, spreadsheet modeling, workflow documentation

Business: OKR design, KPI development, resource allocation, operating cadence, process improvement

Leadership: Holding peers and senior people to commitments; running a meeting that produces decisions

Communication: Executive summaries, status reporting, facilitation, written process documentation
 

IDEAL CANDIDATES

Education: Business, industrial or systems engineering, operations, information science, or a related field. Undergraduate through PhD, including MBA.

Experience: Project leadership, campus organizations, operations coursework, or a previous internship. Preferred, not required.

Mindset: Sees the gap between what was decided and what actually happened — and closes it. Organized without being rigid.
