Schedule: All seven UT home football games, plus pregame testing and training sessions
Reports To: Director of Information Technology
Compensation: Hourly rate
Position Summary
Texas Exes is seeking a dependable and technically curious intern to support IT and audiovisual operations for all seven University of Texas home football tailgates.
The intern will assist with equipment setup, testing, troubleshooting, inventory, and teardown. No previous professional IT or AV experience is required. Training will be provided.
Responsibilities
Set up and take down televisions, speakers, microphones, computers, cables, and related event equipment.
Test equipment before each event and report damaged, missing, or malfunctioning items.
Organize, label, and safely store equipment.
Monitor AV and IT systems during tailgates.
Assist with basic troubleshooting, including checking connections, replacing cables, and restarting equipment.
Follow setup checklists and instructions from Texas Exes staff.
Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Qualifications
Interest in technology, audiovisual equipment, computers, or live events.
Willingness to learn and work with technical equipment.
Dependable, punctual, and available for all seven home games, pregame testing, and training sessions.
Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to remain calm and communicate clearly in a busy event environment.
Positive attitude and willingness to assist where needed.
Schedule and Physical Requirements
The position requires availability for all seven UT home football games, along with scheduled pregame equipment testing and training sessions. Game-day hours will vary based on kickoff times and may include early-morning setup and post-event teardown.
The intern must be able to stand and walk for extended periods, work indoors and outdoors, and safely lift and carry equipment weighing up to [40–50] pounds.

Game-Day Experience
Game days are fast-paced, energetic, and fun. Once setup is complete and systems are running smoothly, the intern may have opportunities to enjoy the tailgate and watch portions of the football game, as responsibilities allow.
Food and drinks will be provided during assigned shifts.
