Mobile Frontend Developer — React Native + Unity

ABOUT ELYSIUM

Elysium INC is an early-stage technology company building an AI-powered virtual smart mall: a real-time 3D environment that combines e-commerce, social interaction, vendor tools, and personalized experiences. Our platform spans Unity/WebGL, mobile and web applications, backend services, real-time communication, and cloud infrastructure.

THE ROLE

We are looking for a part-time Mobile Frontend Developer to bring Elysium's Unity experience into a React Native application for iOS and Android. The first mission is well scoped: embed Unity as a Library, implement the native bridge in Swift and Kotlin, and make the combined app performant and repeatably shippable.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

- Embed the Unity player inside the React Native view tree using Unity as a Library.
- Implement and maintain native modules and a two-way message bridge in Swift and Kotlin.
- Handle lifecycle, backgrounding, orientation, memory warnings, permissions, and GPU coexistence.
- Move large Unity content to Addressables/AssetBundles with streaming, caching, resumable downloads, and updates.
- Profile thermal behaviour, memory, draw calls, shader variants, texture compression, URP, and frame rate on real devices.
- Own EAS/prebuild configuration, signing, TestFlight, Google Play internal testing, and mobile CI.
- Implement touch controls, microphone permissions, deep links, accessibility, localization, and store-review requirements.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

- 1-4 years developing mobile applications.
- Apps shipped to the App Store and/or Google Play that you can discuss concretely.
- Strong React Native/Expo experience or strong native iOS/Android plus Unity experience.
- Real experience at the native boundary: modules, bridging, lifecycle, threading, Swift, or Kotlin.
- Working knowledge of the Unity build pipeline and command-line build automation.
- Performance profiling on real devices and disciplined root-cause debugging.
- Ability to work independently within a clearly scoped part-time engagement.

NICE TO HAVE

- Unity as a Library in production, Addressables/AssetBundles, or large-scale remote content delivery.
- URP mobile optimization, shader stripping, lightmapping, GPU instancing, or avatar systems.
- Unity WebGL, Expo config plugins, EAS, Fastlane, accessibility, or localization.

COMPENSATION

Hourly rate: $45-$52, with an expected commitment of approximately 15-20 hours per week. The $52 ceiling is the rounded hourly equivalent of $108,000 annually, based on 52 weeks and 40 hours per week. The final rate within this cap may be negotiated based on demonstrated competence, seniority, availability, and engagement scope.

WHAT WE OFFER

- A focused part-time scope with direct access to engineers and company leadership.
- Remote flexibility and meaningful ownership of production work.
- The opportunity to shape a new product and its technical foundations.

HOW TO APPLY

Apply through Handshake with the following, in English:
- Your resume.
- Links to shipped apps plus a brief description of your native-module, Unity, or performance work.

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Elysium INC is an equal opportunity employer.

Candidates selected for an interview must sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) before the interview. The discussion may include confidential commercial information belonging to Elysium and third parties.
